Free house clearance – is it possible?

Inhoudsopgave

Of course, the idea of a free house clearance sounds very good, but unfortunately it is often unrealistic. In fact, there are quite a few costs for the professional house clearance company in this process. Think, for example, of personnel costs, transportation costs, waste handling costs, cleaning and repairs. However, there are ways to save on costs. For example, you can sell some of your contents to cover the costs.

House clearance in exchange for contents?

It does sometimes happen that companies offer to clear a house for free in exchange for contents. However, this is rare. This is because the value of the contents must be high enough to cover the cost of the clearance. This means that valuable items must be present. But these are often precisely the items that people want to take with them to the new home, or prefer to sell themselves.

Free house clearance after passing

After the death of a loved one, there is a lot involved all at once. One important thing is clearing the home. Unfortunately, again, this is not often offered for free. It does often happen that part of the costs can be covered by selling valuables. However, a completely free house clearance is not often possible. This is because there are still often costs to be incurred by the house clearance company, such as cleaning and any repairs. There are also personnel costs for the employees who do the heavy lifting.

Sell your valuables

There are things you can do yourself to reduce or even completely cover the cost of the evictor. The best way to do this is to sell your valuables yourself. For example, you can use platforms such as Marketplace or Facebook to offer furniture or other items for sale. This can help you (partially) cover the cost of the eviction.
